I do therapy every single day. My body doesn’t change. I’m still quadriplegic. I’m still paralyzed. By any reasonable measure, I should quit.
But you have to be a little unreasonable to achieve anything worth having.
I must seem unreasonable, showing up day after day with no physical progress. But the change isn’t happening in my body. It’s happening in my mind. I didn’t expect that. Showing up has strengthened my thinking and made me a better person than I thought was possible.
Reasonable people quit when they don’t see results. Unreasonable people show up anyway.
Some days the only progress is that I showed up. That’s enough.
